ITINERARY

Arrival at Havana International Airport.

Meet and Greeting at the Airport.

Private Transfer to Homestay.

Accommodation in B & B at Guest House in Havana (rooms with good and modern comfort, A/, W/C, cold and hot water, and breakfast included.

Welcoming Dinner at Private/family Restaurant Doña Eutimia.

09:15 Full City Tour of Old Havana guided by a specialist of the Office of the Historian of Havana. Starting the walking tour of Old Havana from the Templete, where Havana villa was founded in 1519. Walking through the Plaza de Armas and all other Squares of Old Havana: San Francisco de Asís Square, then to Old Square, visit the Cathedral Square. Seeing the monuments and buildings more relevant from the different centuries all well preserved, the Palacio del Segundo Cabo, the Cathedral; entrance to the Museum of Capitanes Generales & the Old Havana Small Scale Museum.

Visit the Wilfredo Lam Contemporary Art Center in Old Havana; visit the Cerography Center at the Cathedral Square.

14:00 Lunch at Family/Private Restaurant El Fígaro.

After lunch visit the Aisle of the Barbers in Old Havana, a project which is changing the life in the area of Central Havana, thanks to the private initiative of “Papito the Barber”.

16:00 Visit the Prado Avenue, the Grand Theater of Havana, and the Capitol Building. Continue to Colon Cemetery, one of the most historical cemetery of the world and the most significant in Latin American with more of 500 mausoleums, chapels and family vaults; enjoy some of the most relevant mansions of the Vedado on Paseo Avenue, President Avenue, 17 Street between others, visit the University of Havana, the Coppelia building, the Rampa, the first Hilton built outside USA in the fifties, etc.

09:00 Visit the association of Yoruba in Old Havana; get an explanation about the afro religion in Cuba.

Continuation to the town of Guanabacoa and Regla where that afrocuban religious are most practiced, visit the Santeria Museum.

In Guanabacoa learn about history of the town, one of the oldest of Havana, their participation in the defense of the villa of San Cristobal de la Habana during the days of the British invasion in the XVIII century; after that visit the Cojímar town, a fisherman town, which also played a role in the defense of the villa during that event, and was relevant in the history because of the live of the american writter Ernest Hemingway in Cuba. (The Novel Old Man and the Sea´s story written by Hemingway and the film based on that novel took place in Cojímar town).

13:00 Lunch at Las Terrazas de Cojímar restaurant.

After lunch visit the Hemingway Museum at Finca Vigía.

In the way back to Havana stop at El Morro Cabaña Fortress. Entrance to the external areas, special opportunity for pictures.

16:30 Back to the homestay.

At evening optional visit to a baseball game (depending of the time of the year if the national championship is taking place at that time) or visit the Casa de la Cultura de Centro Habana.

07:30 Transfer to take the Tourist Bus to Trinidad.

15:30 Upon arrival our Local representative in Trinidad will meet you and will take you to your Guesthouse in Trinidad where you will be staying for the next 2 days.

Our local Tour Guide will meet you to start the City Tour of Trinidad, the quintessential of Cuba Colonial City, best preserved historical Center in all the America´s , visit the Santa Ana and the Major Square, entrance to the Cantero Palace, entrance to the Canchanchara Bar with a welcoming drink, visit the Handcraft Fair.

08:30 Full day tour, with a guide, to Topes de Collantes to do the Caburní trail. Travel by Russian trucks to the Escambray Montains, where hiking, jungle trekking with waterfall.

13:30 Cuban lunch organized by the campesinos.

Back to the homestay in the late afternoon.

Free evening.

It is recommended to enjoy the cultural life and night life in Trinidad, of a particular interest is some galleries of arts in the Historical Center of Trinidad as well as Casa de la Trova.

15:40 Meet and greeting upon arrival, transfer to your Homestay where you will stay the last evening of the Program.

20:00 Farewell dinner at a Family Restaurant San Cristobal in Central Havana or similar.

Back to the homestay.

Museum located in the old Palacio de los Capitanes Generales, opposite the Plaza de Armas. It is the representative city museum. Its more than thirty rooms exhibit valuable collections of plastic, decorative and utilitarian objects that recreate the historical and cultural evolution habanera arts.

Trinidad

Trinidad, officially founded in early 1514, as Villa of the Holy Trinity . It is a city in the central region of Cuba, specifically in southern Sancti Spiritus province. In 1988 UNESCO inscribed on the World Heritage List the historic center of Trinidad near the Valley of the Sugar Mills .

Manaca-Iznaga Tower Trinidad

Manaca-Iznaga. It is a bell tower and watchtower type is among the ancient monuments of the Valley of the Sugar Mills in Trinidad. This architectural work was built in the nineteenth century and declared by the National Commission of Monuments of Cuba as a National Monument of the nation on October 10, 1978, when he was also awarded this distinction to neighboring historical center of Trinidad.

Topes de Collantes

Topes de Collantes is a nature reserve park in the Escambray Mountains range in Cuba. It also refers to the third highest peak in the reserve, where a small settlement and tourist center is located, all sharing the same name.Nature is the big attraction here.
