Day 1 HAVANA

Pickup at airport

Arrival at Havana International Airport Jose Marti.

Meet and Greeting at the Airport.

Transfer In by minivan, Check In.

After dinner first walking tour in Old Havana to see the city at night.

Back to the Guest House.

Day 2 Havana

08:00 Breakfast

09:00 Departing for Full Private City Tour of Havana. Starting the walking tour of Old Havana from the Templete, where Havana villa was founded in 1519. Walking through the Plaza de Armas and all other Squares of Old Havana: San Francisco de Asís Square, then to Old Square, visit the Cathedral Square. Seeing the monuments, the Palacio del Segundo Cabo and Plaza de Cristo.

11:00 Entrance to the Capitanes Generales Museum (city museum).

12:45 Luncheon at Paladar / Private Restaurant San Cristobal or similar.

14:00 Visit the Paseo del Prado Avenue, enjoying a majestic Avenue, visit the Grand Theater of Havana, the Central Park José Martí and the Capitol Building.

15:00 From the Capitol Building, we will continuous the tour to Modern Havana, first visiting the Revolution Square, the Cemetery Colon (from the outside), the Vedado area with its amazing Avenues, residences, buildings, the University of Havana, La Rampa on 23 Street, the Seaboard.

16:00 Visit Eduardo Cordoba´s workshop (unique artist´s demonstration of unique musical instruments, music of Afrocuban rituals and dancing). Private performance.

18:00 Back to the Guest House.

19:30 1 hour panoramic tour in Old American Vintage cars through old and modern Havana, Malecón (seaboard) ending at Hotel Nacional.

20:30 Dinner at Comedor de Aguiar Restaurant.

21:30 Enjoy the world famous Parisien Show.

Day 3 Havana - Viñales Valley - Las Terrazas - Havana

08:00 Breakfast.

09:00 Departing for Tour to Viñales Valley and Las Terrazas Community, one of the most beautiful landscape in Cuba with their rare hill name Mogotes, fertile land where best havano tobacco leaf is grown. Place of wonderful caverns, little country routes and amazing landscapes.

11:30 In the way stop at Montesino´s Farm, to learn about the process of drying and processing the leaf of tobacco to produce the hand made havano cigar.

Visit the viewpoint at Los Jazmines.

14:00 Entrance to the Indean Caves, with a river underground.

15:00 Visit the Wall painted with the history of the evolution of this region of Cuba.

Continuation the trip to Las Terrazas.

16:45 Entrance to Las Terrazas Community Project with a visit to the Curujey Interpretation Center, then visit the community, the ruins of the French coffee plantation, if of interest visit the art galleries of painter of the area. Canopy tour available in Las Terrazas (not included).

18:00 Back to Havana.

21:30 Dinner at Vista Mar Restaurant.

23:00 Entrance to Casa de Música to enjoy of a Cuban Salsa Band, live music.

Back to the Guest House.

DAY 4 Havana

08:00 Breakfast.

09:00 Visit the Fine Arts Museum to appreciate modern Cuban fine art with a specialized tour guide from the museum. Visit Yoruba Society (Afrocuban performance if available).

11:00 Visit Callejón de Hamel (the Hamel Alley), the epicenter to the Cuban Afro-Culture, to be in contact with a very original street art gallery and Rumba dance (recommended for Sundays when performance is available).

Continuation to Cojimar Fishermen town, east of Havana very important in the life of Hemingway in Havana. Visit La Terraza de Cojímar, appreciate all the pictures of Hemingway in Cojímar during the fifties, place where he used to chat with fishermen and with his very good friend Gregorio also the captain of his Yacht Pilar, 1 mojito included.

13:00 Lunch at El Ajiaco Restaurant (family restaurant in Cojímar).

After lunch visit the Hemingway Museum at Finca Vigía, explanation by a specialist.

Continuation of the tour to el Morro Fortress. Entrance to the external area of Morro Castle to have an incredible view of the city, special opportunity of taking pictures.

Visit the Bar El Floridita, the preferable of Hemingway in Havana and try the famous Daiquiri (included).

Back to the Guest House around 16:30.

DAY 5 Havana

11:00 Visit the Community Project “Arte y Corte” Arts Court is a cultural economic project outset grouped uniting barbers, hairdressers, artists and painters in the country that have been linked, in one way or another to the hairdresser. The goal of all of them is to transcend beyond their job cutting hair, based on three grounds: the art, history and craft. The project is supported by the Office of the City Historian of Havana.

13:00 Luncheon at El Fígaro Restaurant (family restaurant part of the community project Arte Corte in Old Havana)

In the afternoon visit Fusterlandia, the Fuster community Project in Jaimanitas. Located at a small coastal neighborhood West of Havana, this tour will be led by the famous Cuban painter and ceramicist José Fuster.

On the way back to the Guest House, panoramic tour of Convention Center, schools of art.

Free time.

20:00 Dinner at El Cocinero Restaurant (private managed restaurant).

21:00 Entrance to Art Factory in Vedado Town. This is a very original place with a combination of art exhibitions, life music group performance, workshops about art, culture, books, painting, theater, where young people use to hang out.

Back to the guest house.

Museum located in the old Palacio de los Capitanes Generales, opposite the Plaza de Armas. It is the representative city museum. Its more than thirty rooms exhibit valuable collections of plastic, decorative and utilitarian objects that recreate the historical and cultural evolution habanera arts. The main entrance to City Museum overlooking the street Tacon, between Bishop and orelly. Open Tuesday to Sunday from 9.30 p.m. to 5.00 a.m.

The plaza was originally called Plaza Nueva (New Square). It emerged as an open space in 1559, after the Plaza de Armas and San Francisco. In colonial times it was a residential neighborhood of the Criollo plutocracy. Plaza Vieja was the site of executions, processions, bullfights, and fiestas all witnessed by Havana's wealthiest citizens, who looked on from their balconies. The urban architectural complex of Plaza Vieja is represented by valuable colonial buildings from the XVII, XVIII and XIX and some examples of the early twentieth century. Wikipedia

The Paseo del Prado emerged as a need for growth of the city, beyond the limits they imposed the walls. At that time the public spaces in the area intramural, for recreation and social life outdoors were insufficient. The walk or extramural mall, built by the Colonial Government, was about one kilometer long and spread over the earth wall and between the two doors that counted. It was called "Nuevo Prado" and went on to become the center of social life in Havana at the time. Paseo del Prado avenue

The splendor of the island by the interest of tourists to enjoy a trip through Havana in these wonderful jewels on wheels, has allowed them out of workshops or abandoned courtyards.

Eduardo Cordoba

Percussionist academic studies and natural intuition craftsman Eduardo Cordova (Havana, l963), decided one day to make their own instruments because the sound of his drum not left completely satisfied. Thus begins an adventure in which cedar logs, fittings and skins begin to shape a world of sounds and dreams of music and crafts converge and complement each other without setting precise limits.

Salvador Gonzáles Escalona on April 21, 1990 started with murals and sculptures in the street Callejón de Hamel, near University of Havana. For sculptures he used scrap objects like bathtubs, hand pumps, pin wheels etc., and for the murals he used different kind of available paint, including car enamel; the street was transformed from a slum area to an enthusiastic Afro-Cuban centre. Today there are workshops for young Cuban children to learn painting. Every Sunday there are rumba performances, and every Friday Cuban music in the street.

The 150 square km constituting the Viñales National Park form a unique cultural landscape, and one that stands out is the cultivation of tabacco, which from its green planted until their gabled houses drying surrounded by famous mogotes.
